A Look Inside the Sacred Book of One of the World's Fastest-Growing Religions What used to be an exotic religion of people halfway around the world is now the belief system of people living across the street. Through fair, contextual use of the Qur'an as the primary source text, apologist James R. White presents Islamic beliefs about Christ, salvation, the Trinity, the afterlife, and other important topics. White shows how the sacred text of Islam differs from the teachings of the Bible in order to help Christians engage in open, honest discussions with Muslims.

The average Christian knows somewhat how dangerous radical Islam is because of the regular media coverage of beheadings of Christians, Jews, and even young little children, not to mention Muslims with which they disagree. However, the average Christian does not know their true beliefs, just how many there are, to the extent they will go to carry out these beliefs. Daily we find Islamic commentators on the TV and radio, offering up misleading information, quoting certain portions of the Quran while leaving other parts out. When considering Islamic beliefs, other Islamic writings must be considered, like the Hadith or Sunnah, and the Shariah, or canon law. While Islam, in general, does not support radical Islam, the vast majority do support radical beliefs. For example, beheadings, stoning for adultery or homosexuality, suicide bombings, turning the world into an Islamic state, and far too many other heinous things. THE GUIDE TO ANSWERING ISLAM provides Christians with an overview of Islamic terminology. The reader will learn about Muhammad’s calling, the history of the Quran, how Islam expanded, the death of Muhammad and the splinter groups that followed. In addition, the three sources of their teaching, six pillars of belief, five pillars of Islam, the twelfth Imam, and much more will be discussed. While there are several books on Islam and radical Islam, this will be the first that will prepare its readers to communicate effectively with Muslims in an effort toward sharing biblical truths. THE GUIDE TO ISLAM will be an effective evangelism tool. In addition, each chapter will end with review questions, helping the reader recall the main points of the chapter. Therefore, it can be studied alone or in a church Bible study setting. THE GUIDE TO ANSWERING ISLAM has the contents constructed in a way that will greatly serve the Christian Church. There are many recent books written by Christians about Islam, and there are many books written recently about radical Islam. However, none of these recent books attempts to do what has been done, which is to give an adequate portrayal of Islam, critiqued by history and Christian doctrine, and then culminating in an extensive evaluation of the rise of Radical Islam from a Christian's perspective.

The first in a five-part series, this book is not solely about Islam. It surveys the rich history of Christianity in pre-Islamic Arabia, connecting biblical-era events to modern-era reality. Christianity has never existed in a vacuum. Its origins and evolution remained markedly distinct from the pervasive international and inter-continental pagan cultures in which each new generation of Christians lived. Within this context, understanding Islamic ideology becomes easier. Understanding what Islam is-and is not-is a matter of eternal consequence. One of the greatest dangers Christians face is being unable to distinguish truth from fiction. Unfortunately, many self-identifying Christians, either naïve, misinformed, or deceived, make false claims about Islam, and believe they are true. But, one cannot know what is true without knowing what is false. Discerning the difference requires wisdom and courage. This book compares and contrasts the Qur'an and the Bible's teachings about historical events, the lives and legacies of Muhammad and Jesus, and Jesus's mother, Mary, about whom an entire chapter of the Qur'an is written. It offers questions for apologetics, personal reflection and prayer. Its primary aim is to enable Christians to expose erroneous thinking, to make clear the purpose of Islam, and to encourage Christians to boldly live out the Gospel, the foundation of which solely lies in the person and work of Jesus Christ. To Him, be all praise, honor, and glory. Bethany Blankley is a former Capitol Hill staffer, Fox News Radio political analyst, public speaker and commentator on religion and politics in America. While many of us struggle to understand it, the Trinity is one of the most important teachings of the Christian faith. It defines God's very essence and describes how he relates to us. And while it can be a difficult concept to get our heads around, it is crucial for believers to understand how God explains his triune nature in his Word. In this book, James R. White offers a concise, understandable explanation of what the Trinity is and why it matters. While refuting the distortions of God presented by various cults, Dr. White shows how understanding this teaching leads to renewed worship and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a Christian. And amid today's emphasis on the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, The Forgotten Trinity is a balanced look at all three persons of the Trinity. May this book deepen your understanding of this important doctrine while also drawing you closer to the triune God himself.

Of the many books explaining Islam, few specifically address the concerns and questions of those from a Christian background. Moreover, the commonalities between the Abrahamic faiths—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—are too often ignored. Set out in an easy and informative question-and-answer format, the book addresses the specific theological points of agreement and difference between Christianity and Islam, explains the core religious beliefs and practices of Islam, and answers today's most common questions of Islam and Muslims in an age when there is much conflict and misunderstanding. Islam is best judged not by the limitations and transgressions of its most extreme, ignorant, and outlandish followers, but by the example of its moderate majority, and Ruqaiyyah Waris Maqsood presents this introduction to the theology and practice of Islam in an attempt to explore some of the false impressions that surround it. Table of Contents: Section 1: The Religious Beliefs of Islam Explained Section 2: the Religious Duties of Islam Explained Section 3: Miscellaneous Questions Section 4: Christianity and Islam Ruqaiyyah Waris Maqsood gained an honors degree in Christian Theology from the University of Hull in 1963 and then taught religious studies at various state schools until her retirement in 1996. She converted to Islam in 1986 and now lectures and writes on Islam.

Millions of non-Muslims know the name of the Muslim scripture, whether it is written as "Qur'an" or "Quran" or "Koran." But for most, that is all they know. Many have fallen victim to the mass of misinformation that circulates about the Qur'an. Others may have tried to read the Qur'an, but the text itself is tough to decipher. With no sense of context, chronology, or interpretive history, many would-be readers of the Qur'an quickly give up the effort. As for those trying to find out what the Qur'an says about any particular subject or issue, they, too, soon discover that this is not a simple or straightforward undertaking. A clear, concise introduction to the holy book that guides the lives of 1.6 billion people on our planet, this brief volume opens the world of the Qur'an to interested readers who want to know where this scripture came from and how it has achieved a profound influence in today's world. Writing in an easy-to-read question-and-answer format, Jane McAuliffe, one of the world's foremost scholars of the Qur'an, introduces readers to this important text by discussing its origins, structure, themes, interpretations, and what it has to say about a host of critical contemporary issues. Where did the Qur'an come from? Do Muslims believe that the Qur'an is God's own word? How do Muslims study the Qur'an? What does the Qur'an say about God? About family? About ethics? About violence? By answering the questions that many people have about the Qur'an and its role in Muslim faith, this book offers an invaluable resource for anyone who is curious about one of the world's most important faiths.

The Muslim Claim of Corruption In spite of the fact that a) the Qur’an requires all Muslims to believe in the Torah, Zebur, and ?njil as the Word of God, and even though b) the Qur’an clearly states that no one can ever change the Word of God, c) nevertheless, most Muslims today believe that the Bible has been changed and corrupted. The reason why Muslims have not been able to see that these claims are contrary to all logic and reason is because there are many points of conflict between the Bible and the Qur’an. Muslims have made the a-priori assumption that the Qur’an could not be wrong, and therefore the Bible must have been changed. While all Muslims are commanded in the Qur’an to honor and obey Jesus as a prophet, at the same time most Muslims refuse to read or heed the commands of Jesus which are found only in the ?njil on the pretext that it has been changed. And so the pardox remains; since there are no direct quotations of Jesus to be found in the Qur’an, how can Muslims honestly say that they honor Jesus as a prophet while at the same time they refuse to read and obey Jesus’s own words which are found only in the ?njil? At the core of these false claims of corruption is an innate hypocricy and a spirit of unbelief which needs to be exposed for what it is. The Qur’an challenges Christians to: “bring your proof (of what ye state) if ye are truthful.” (Bakara 2:111) This book takes up this challenge and provides ample proof from both the Bible and the Qur’an, as well as from historical and manuscript evidence, to show that the Bible that we have today is indeed trustworthy and reliable as the Word of God. This book exhorts Muslims to repent of their hypocritical double standards and their sin of unbelief and encourages them to read and obey the unchangeable Word of God as it is recorded and preserved in the Holy Bible.
